The CMS Team Goes Fishing!!!

What better way to spend a day in sunny Florida than fishing?! Well, that’s what a few members of the Create My Scene team thought. Keeping with the company mantra of work hard, play hard, 3 of us took a charter trip out of Boca Grande, Florida for some tarpon fishing.

For those not familiar with tarpon fishing in Boca Grande, it is a sort of mecca for serious fisherman. Every year in May and June, hundreds (if not thousands) of large tarpon from 10 to 200 pounds, fill the pass on their migration up the coast. They populate the pass so thick that it’s not uncommon to see pods of hundreds of fish breaching the surface. Although not table fare, these are some of the best fighting, most acrobatic and hardest fish to catch…a true prize catch!

Capt. Craig Bullara of Reelfish graciously took us out. Our sister company, VehicleScenes.com wrapped his immaculate 22′ Ranger. And did he put us on some fish! Bob and Patrick showed Ryan up by landing 2 fish to the boat, successfully releasing both. They both were in the 50 pound range! Another 3 fish were hooked and provided some serious aerial acrobatics before breaking free to swim the depths of the pass once again. One was estimated to weigh about 150 pounds! In fact it jumped so close to another boat that it splashed everyone on board.

We wanted to put up a wall scene of a jumping tarpon in the office.  However, our photography skills aren’t on the same level as Craig’s fishing skills, so we didn’t get a good one to put up.  We considered Bob’s picture, but then realize we see enough of his mug on a daily basis!

It was a great day and the CMS team had a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A special thanks to Capt. Craig Bullara. He, once again, really out did himself and provided one of the best fishing experiences any of us have ever had. If you’re interested in getting on some serious fish, whether it’s tarpon, snook or redfish, Craig can do it all. You can reach him at 813.416.2372 or you can visit him at fishforreel.com.
