Non-Adhesive Vinyl Installation
Method: Tack and Frame
What you need:
- A Ladder or two
- Hammer
- Nails (1′ to 1 ½”)
- A friend to help (depending on size of the Scene)
- Utility Knife or Straight edge razor blade
Optional Items you may need:
- Wall/Crown molding
- Finishing nails
Instructions:
- Using your friends help, outstretch the Scene across the area where you plan to install your Wall-scene. Make sure that your scene is aligned exactly to your preference.
- Using a pencil, make marks at the edges of the Scene. These marks will serve as your points of reference when tacking the Scene up.
- Carefully position your Wall-scene along your marks across the top. Using the hammer and nails, tack the Scene along the top from the left edge to the right edge. We recommend that you space the nails approximately 8 inches apart and ¼” to ½” from the edge of the vinyl.
- Once you have tacked the top of the Scene, you may let the entire vinyl drape down to the bottom.
- Repeat step three for both sides and finally across the bottom of your Wall-scene.
- If there is any excess material overlapping your desired Scene space, use your utility knife or razor to trim.
- Optional but HIGHLY Recommended: Finish edges of scene with crown molding (which can be purchased at your local home improvement store)
- Measure the length of each side of your Wall-scene.
- Cut your molding to fit these measurements.
- Use finishing nails to place the molding of your choice over the edges of the vinyl.
