Our business was built on the surfing culture—a deep appreciation for nature, a passion for traveling, and the desire to connect with all cultures. So, when Tara Oxley of BR Guest Restaurants approached us about this project we jumped at the opportunity! It was a true pleasure for us to work on a surf themed hotel. They wanted to utilize their own photos for wall murals in each of the hotel rooms.

Tara possessed a keen sense for the power of working with locals. She visited local surf shops, restaurants and events to collect the inspirational pieces for her creation: Post Card Inn on the Beach. Her dedication led her to local photographers Dan Putnam and Ryan Clapper. Their action surf shots were the perfect fit for the vintage décor of each room.

For Mary Scanwitz, a geography teacher in the suburbs of Chicago, a world map in her students text books wasn’t enough. As she was teaching her geography class, she couldn’t point to the location she was talking about so that her students could relate a lesson with a location (and isn’t that what geography’s all about?!). She needed something bigger and better that she could use as a lesson aid.

Classroom World Map Wall Mural Scene

She recently wrote to Create My Scene, “I found a bunch of world maps through my online search, but they didn’t quite fit what I needed. All of them were like wallpaper or a poster, so once I put them up, either I could never take them down and reuse them or I ran the risk of them ripping. For me, that was very important because this was a significant expense, and I didn’t want it to just last one year until I had to move classrooms. That’s when I found Create My Scene. They were able to offer me a reusable map that I could take anywhere with me, at a reasonable cost. It’s been a hit with the students!”

Mary used the Non-Adhesive Wall Scene option to create her scene.

For those in the Midwest, basements are another aspect of everyday life. They provide an area to escape to, an area to play, and area to work out in or even an area to store things. However, due being underground, many basement windows are small and offer little in the way of a view. Mitch of Wisconsin wanted to do something with his non-descript window. However, he didn’t want to lose the little light which came through it. So, he used Clear Static Cling from Create My Scene to create a view from the inside while still providing the valuable natural light.

It’s not the most pleasant experience, but it’s something we all have to do…the dentist’s office. Dr. Scott of Florida wanted to do something different for his patients. He wanted to improve the experience, but the question was how? That’s when he figured out that most of the time his patients were in his office, they were looking straight up at the ceiling. So, he thought, why not make the ceiling a conversation piece, all while giving patients a better view. He decided to use Adhesive Vinyl with custom images from his vacation adventures to cover panels of this ceiling.

Create My Scene Wall Murals

What a difference it has made! Not only do his patients now have a room with a view, but it also provides a great conversation piece. Furthermore, Dr. Scott has since contacted Create My Scene and informed us that not only have his murals put patients at ease, but he’s recently started to use them as a marketing piece to boost his business. Better views and better business…now that’s a combination we can all appreciate!

The concept of creating a desirable view from any ordinary window appeals to a large number of our customers. However, a realistic picture of mountains, skylines, or a tropical oasis simply does not suit everyone’s taste.

Sure, we’ve all dreamed of an office overlooking the bright lights of Manhattan—and one of our decorative window films can provide you with just that. Who wouldn’t enjoy waking to the sights of the blue water and remarkable cliffs of the Pacific Ocean? Window murals can give that illusion.

But there is a large segment of the population that may not be interested in creating a better view. To these customers we say—accent! Whether you ask us to create the design or you submit an illustration that you find online we can create a Window Scene that compliments the colors and patterns of your home. Check out this great example of bringing the colors of a room into a modern design that harmonizes with the room’s flair.

We are constantly building our database of graphics; and with this expansion comes new color schemes. We encourage our customers to speak up and help us understand what colors and styles are in demand. We understand and appreciate that our customers are the key to helping us continue to grow and to stay on the cutting-edge of window décor.

It’s not just pictures for windows. It’s a creative new way to enhance the look of any space of any style.

While there is not much construction happening these days, a new building was haunting the staff at Blackhills Surgery Center in Rapid City South Dakota. An expanded wing of the hospital was erected just feet from the only windows in the doctor’s lounge area. This was beginning to cause employee moral to drop and an overall sense of claustrophobia.

Here is a before image of the lounge. You can see just how cramped the room felt. A concrete wall to stare at all day?!?! Who wants that?

The members of the hospital held a few brainstorming sessions and eventually agreed on a mood inspiring image from Ben Goode. This intoxicating image brings in the bright yellows of flowers for happiness, the relaxing elements of a clear sky, and the tranquility of a lone oak tree.

What an improvement!

This past year, we noticed a large increase in demand for holiday décor from www.createmyscene.com. Customers came to us with all sorts of creative decorating ideas to make his or her home feel more festive. While we currently don’t have many stock holiday designs to offer, our design staff executed on our service: “Let us create a design for you.”

Our mission moving forward is to develop an entire line of products based around this concept. Our customers can expect to see snow window scenes, Christmas window clings, life size Santa murals, and many more holiday mural ideas.

This photo, submitted from Eric Greenhow of Lakeland, FL depicts the use of our window murals. Snow is a rarity in Florida. So this customer decided to create the feeling of a white Christmas with a winter window scene. This can really transform the ambiance of home during the holidays.

We also helped customers implement creative ideas such as: a wall mural of Rockefeller center behind their Christmas tree, a front door mural beautifully crafted with the family name and holiday cheer, and a removable wall mural of Santa and his reindeers that spanned the length of a living room wall.

We were impressed with the number of creative ideas that customers brought to us. These ideas helped us to realize the true potential of realistic wall and window murals. Whether its decoration or reliving childhood memories during the holidays, we have discovered a new category for our products!
