There is a recent movement and trend for anything that is unique, one and only, and relatable. A decade ago, it was all about the big corporations, like GAP, Hilton hotels, Chili’s, and many more. Today it is all about finding locations and objects that are original and individual. We all love to find a small café or restaurant, with a distinct atmosphere and décor, serving menus that are just as distinctive. We also try to
find fashion boutiques that have limited run, so that when we attend parties or go out we are not wearing the same outfit someone else is, even though if it meant we paid a much more expensive price. The same goes for traveling and booking hotel nowadays.

Perhaps the most well known set of boutique hotels exist and started in Japan. There are many different names for them such as romance hotel, leisure hotel, love hotel, fashion hotel, and amusement hotel. These hotels are usually for short stays where couples seek for a private intimate rendezvous. Each room are different themes and some of the more popular ones include, library, office, hello kitty, anime, and even subway rooms. These are the extreme forms of boutique hotels, however all over the world there is a movement towards staying at smaller and more special bed and breakfast or hotels, like the Personality Hotels in San Francisco.

The Personality Hotels in San Francisco have five unique luxury boutique hotels, each with a special theme. “Personality’s boutique hotels showcase a diverse palette of “personalities””. The hotels range from their Union Square Hotel, which is also San Francisco’s first boutique hotel that showcases nostalgic San Francisco to Steinhart Hotel with apartment and studio rooms that are designed by William Sofield who also designed Ralph Lauren and Gucci boutiques. But of course they also have a contemporary and modern hotel that is suitable for those who enjoy and love urbanity and modernity.

Hotel Diva is “sexy, modern and fresh from a facelift”. They not only have a modern and sophisticated interior for the lobby and rooms they also have a creative exterior design. All the windows have shades that have sexy designs. This is a clever method that many boutique hotels would use today to make their exteriors
more outstanding. These window mural or tints are great way to make use of the window for designing. Whatever theme your hotel is you can choose the matching window murals or tints. And best of all these window murals and window tints are affordable, easy to install and remove. And most importantly, they can provide privacy for all the rooms and yet let natural light in.

Cheerful artwork has been shown to raise spirits and have healing capabilities. So doesn’t it make sense to use pleasant wall murals in hospitals and doctor’s offices? The use of murals would especially be helpful in pediatric facilities where children’s imaginations would be enriched by colorful and cheerful murals. The use of wall and window murals can create welcoming and friendly environments in an otherwise scary and somber setting. The positive and attractive surroundings would not only benefit the patients, but it would be enjoyable for the families and staff as well.

Imaginative and comforting wall murals aren’t the only way medical facilities can transform an uninviting room. The use of window murals can also improve an unpleasant view and help complete a themed room. Themed rooms could transform a sterile and cold hospital environment into an enchanting and delightful atmosphere. As any doctor or parent knows, it’s important to keep a sick child calm and relaxed in order to get proper treatment. Using wall murals can help relieve the stress of a hospital or doctor visit. The healing power of wall and window scenes can ultimately change a child’s life. Transform a pediatric cancer center, children’s
hospital, pediatric doctor or dentist office into an optimistic and appealing backdrop that can significantly boost a child’s morale. The uses of wall and window murals are endless and it is only fitting that these healing scenes be in medical facilities.

Nobody likes to feel cramped in their own home, but there are ways help to make
your room feel larger. Of course you can use lighter and brighter wall colors, but
there are other tricks you can use. Using multi-function furniture, for one, is a great
way to combine pieces of furniture and eliminate clutter. Having a few key pieces of
furniture instead of several random pieces can help transform your room. The key
to decorating small rooms is simplicity.

Lighting is also a big element when making a room feel larger. Making the most
of the natural light will significantly improve the feeling of the room. Use sheer
curtains to let the most light in. If you don’t have many windows, or they are a bit
small for the room, add some lamps for more light.

Another way to make the room feel bigger is to minimize wall coverings. One or two
paintings or pictures will create a focal point in the room and won’t make the room
feel cluttered and small. Using mirrors can also help reflect light in the room and
make it seem larger. And of course you want to keep the room as clean as possible.
Keeping the floor clear of mess will definitely improve the size of the room.

Living in a small room doesn’t have to feel like a prison cell. These few tricks can
help turn your cramped room into a spacious and bright living space.

Sharing a room can be tough. Especially when you’re dealing with two very different
kids. You want a unified room without compromising on one of the kid’s self-
expression. The trick is to find a happy medium between the two styles. Create
private spaces for each of the kids, without completely dividing the room. While you
may not have a room big enough to give each child their own “room within a room,”
you’d be surprised at how easy it can be to create their own space.

Just having separate beds is key to giving each child their own space. Bunk beds,
for instance, do not scream individuality. Give your kids their own areas to express
their personality. The use of color is big when designing a shared room. Using
accent walls with each of their favorite colors is a good way to satisfy the two styles
while aesthetically separating the room. If these colors don’t happen to mesh well
together, you can find complementary colors and shades that will give the room
a more cohesive feel. Or you can even create individual wall murals for each child
from their favorite pattern or picture.

While it may be difficult for two kids to share a room, it can become a lot easier
once they get their own space. Using color or wall murals can help separate a room
without drastically dividing it down the center.

You and your soon to be spouse may have found the perfect location or venue for your wedding. There is just one thing, an unfortunate view. Don’t let one downside ruin your dream wedding location! Simply use a wall mural as a wedding backdrop decoration. Many wall murals nowadays are non-adhesive and can be easily applied and also removed. Other than covering that unfortunate spot the mural can servce as a decoration to transform a view in to something entirely new and better for whatever the theme of your wedding is!

Let’s just say the sight you are trying to block out is a wallpaper that clashes with your décor, a wall mural can help create a more complimentary view that can be even more festive or romantic. Wall murals can be places on wall surfaces such as behind the cake table, front of the ceremony area, behind head table of reception, or the bar area of reception. You wall mural design can be chosen from anything. Thus it is very easy to match it with the décor you have already chose, such as the color, fabrics, flowers, or any other decorations.

Here is an idea to make your wall mural at a wedding even more fantastic. Compliment it with some fabric and lights. Use fabric materials such as chiffon or satin in beautiful light airy colors and shine it with some light. Or have small lights behind the fabric for a pretty glow. Or hang twinkling lights to add a beautiful effect.

You can even compliment your wall mural backdrop with some Grecian or Roman columns or big tall vases for flowers. Wall murals are a great backdrop alternative that can easily transform the wedding in to the theme you want.

Have an Asian fusion themed wedding? Add on a beautiful red wall mural with the Chinese marriage character in gold. Add on the white chiffon drapes, set some tall cherry blossoms. Or want a more artistic wedding? Design a piece with your fiancé and have that as your backdrop! Just like the below picture, a couple from Philadelphia, both are artists and used a wall mural piece for their backdrop.

“Exit Through the Gift Shop” is a wonderful and interesting documentary that I stumbled upon on my Netflix. It is about a French man named Thierry Guetta, who used to be a shopkeeper with a claiming aspiration to become a filmmaker. One day he decided to pick up his camera and he started filming many very many clips of different street artists that he followed. Eventually he located and even befriended the great Banksy. However, through many different twist and turns Banksy called him out and asked him to finally make a film of all the footages he obtained.

The film that Thierry churned out was called “Life Remote Control”, a fairly horrible film that Banksy described as someone who has extremely short attention span and is flipping through the channels. Banksy said “it’s basically the story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable. And failed” After failing as a film maker, Thierry set out to become a streets artist himself and called himself, “Mister Brainwash”.

After watching this documentary I became fascinated with street art, and that it has a lot more meaning to it than just the graffiti we see while driving on the freeway. It is one of the most effective ways of self expression.

If you are a fan of such expression, or just simply love modern art. I would check out this documentary. Find an artist that you enjoy? Apply one of their masterpieces at home and be inspired or have your guests wowed.

Below is the link to the official trailer of “Exit Through the Gift Shop”

We are all too familiar with the recent house bubble crisis. This tragedy proved to be the biggest obstacle for new families today to buy a home. Everyone must have good credit rating, enough income, stability, and enough savings. However, with the today’s bad economy, naturally a lot of the younger generation are still struggling in school debt and do not even have a decent long-term career yet. This makes it very hard for young people nowadays to want to settle down and have families; it is not because they do not want to it is because they cannot.

From The Herald: “We were all corrupted by the housing boom, to some extent. People talked endlessly about how their houses were earning more than they did, never asking where all this free money was coming from. Well the truth is that it was being stolen from the next generation. Houses price increase don’t produce wealth, they merely transfer it from the young to the old – from the coming generation of families who have to burden themselves with colossal debts if they want to own, to the baby boomers who are about to retire and live on the cash they make when they downsize.” However, what is done is done and this is the situation we are in now. Even though many of the younger generation are still hoping and trying to own a home, very often they are just getting themselves in more risk and more debt. Very often it is still cheaper to rent than to own a house.

People might not like to rent because they feel that it is not really theirs and it does not have a sense of permanence. But the truth is that it is a temporary solution until you have the financial stability and ability to own a house. Owning a house is a large responsibility and it could be a great investment and asset for your future generation if you can manage it well. So there are many different ways to make a rented home feel more like home. First before anything is change your mindset. You are young and because of that very often to advance in your career it might mean relocation. Secondly, rent a place and start saving for that dream home you want to purchase when the market conditions are stable or profitable again. Thirdly, make your rented home feel like home.

There are many different options to interior designing your home without making permanent changes that you are not allowed to. Such as drilling holes or painting walls. You can buy more desirable furniture, decorative pieces, fresh flowers, beautiful rugs or curtains and drapes. Or you can choose decorative window tint for your windows, shower doors, closet doors, or any other glass surfaces. You can also apply wall murals on the empty and dreary walls. The choice to put on the window mural or wall murals are limitless, because you can choose any design, photograph, or art you desire. Today many of these static cling murals are non-adhesive meaning they are easy to apply and to remove thus making them not as permanent as other redesigning choices.

After talking to some of the mothers that attended the Sunday New Years brunch I realized that many of them are wondering what their new years resolution should be. And I thought why not a new year with a fresh start! So why not redecorate the walls in your home? Painting has been a traditional way to decorate a room. However, we see a new trend in making creative uses of a new favorite, which are wall murals for interior designing. Present day wall murals are self-adhesive and can be installed easily and efficiently.

If you are looking for a unique way to redecorate a dining room in the house, wall murals may be the answer. You will see many different selections here at Create My Scene. The perfect mural does not have to be painted on walls, and here are some reasons to consider ready-made wall murals for any of your rooms at home.

You can choose to paint your own wall murals, if you so desire. This is after all an inexpensive way to decorate bedroom walls. However, not everyone has the kind of talent for painting images and scenes on walls. If you are artistic in nature and have the time, this can be the perfect way to express yourself.

Today, there are many mural designs and patterns that are ready to place on your walls. It is simple to buy and apply them. Take a few moments out of your hectic day of cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, picking up and dropping off your children and just browse online, click buy, and have these adhesive backing murals be applied to your walls in minutes. Ready-made wall murals have many advantages, including a wide variety for home offices, kitchens, living room, or for children rooms. Your children will often see something that they would like to have in their rooms. Whether it be Spiderman or Justin Beiber.

If you have been considering what colors to paint your walls, just think about all the work that painting involves, this is a viable option. You might like to add wallpaper borders along with a mural you chose to compliment each other. This combination will pull the room together very nicely with stunning effects that you can wow your husband, children, and guests.

“Ten thousand flowers in spring, the moon in autumn, a cool breeze in summer, snow in winter. If your mind isn’t clouded by unnecessary things, this is the best season of your life.” (Wu Men)

Sometimes when you had a hard day of work you just want to come home to relax your body and mind. Zen is all about relaxation, mediation, and just letting things go. What is better than taking a hot bath surrounded by soothing green tea aroma and window sceneries of a misty lotus pond?

Decorative window film will do just the job for you to achieve this serenity. Decorative window film is an economical way to add both style and privacy to your house. You can either apply the window film by yourself or have one of our professionals help with the installation.

Have windows in your restroom? Or you want to have windows? Don’t cover up the sunlight with blinds, why not put up scenery that is easily interchangeable from season to season. Each to match the four seasons, spring, autumn, winter, summer.

Having windows in your home and allowing sunlight will help warm and brighten you rooms.
