How long will it take to get my Scene?
Scenes are usually shipped out between 7-14 business days from the day the proof is approved.
Trying to get it up in time to impress someone? We've been there, too. Let us know during your checkout that you need us to hurry up the process. It's just a little extra.
How do I install the Scene?
We offer plenty of tips on our installation page that will walk you through the process, step-by-step.
If you are not comfortable installing your Scene we recommend that you contact a professional in you area.
How large should my image be?
Your image should be at least 300dpi at 1/12 scale. Bigger is always better, but don't just increase the image size because that will actually decrease the quality of the image.
Is there a minimum mural size?
Absolutely not. Whatever space you are trying to transform, we want to help. All you have to do is ask, we are pretty good at listening.
What sizes are available?
We are able to produce Scenes of virtually any size. The size of the Scene depends mostly on the shape and quality of the original image we are working with.
For instance, we probably would not produce a Scene that is 30 feet wide and 5 feet tall if the original photo was a vertical shot of the Eiffel Tower. (For example sake, let's say the original was 15 inches tall by 5 inches wide) In this case, we would have to stretch the image width which would distort the picture and the results would be a very short and stocky Eiffel Tower .
What if I really, really want to use a picture or image that is disproportionate to the size Scene I want to create?
If you have to have a certain picture or image stretched to a disproportionate size, we can try to help. We may be able to duplicate certain parts of the photo, or perhaps combine the image with another similar image to make a larger mural. If you have questions on this, you can fill out a special request.
How much does a Scene cost?
Our costs vary depending on the material used for the Scene. You can browse through our materials page to get the price of each material. Prices are broken down by the cost per square foot.
What if I cannot find a picture that I am interested in?
We understand. We are constantly adding to our database of pictures because demands continually change. If you cannot find an image that you like, email us. We will do our best to have one of our photographers take a photo of the scene you are in search of.
How do I install my Scene if the surface is not smooth?
There are a number of solutions to this obstacle. Keep in mind, the Scene will dilute, but resemble, the texture of the surface that it is applied to. For best Scene results, the surface should be smooth and clean of any imperfections.
Get Some Help
If you are inexperienced with wall coverings and/or adhesives, we recommend that you find a local professional.
Drywall Compound
A quick trip to your local home improvement store will get you started. You will need a container of drywall compound, a trough, and a drywall sanding sponge. Spread a thin, smooth layer of the drywall compound on the surface. Use your trough to spread the substance. When this dries, use the sanding sponge to smooth any imperfections. Finally, wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth (we recommend rubbing alcohol).
Liner Paper
Your local home improvement store should carry liner paper in the wall covering section. If the surface you are working on has a rough texture, you can install the liner paper to hide the imperfections in the wall.
Sand Paper
Sandpaper is an easy and cost effective way of smoothing out the surface you are working on. We recommend using an electric sander if this is the route that you choose. Don't forget to cover your furniture and wear a mask to protect yourself and your belongings from the dust! Sand the surface smooth and wipe clean with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth. |
